7 Saturday

So a budding filmmaker, a fashion columnist, a guy from Oklahoma and Farrah Fawcett’s nurse from Dr. T and the Women walk into a bar. Then they perform an improv comedy show. All right, so we can’t tell a joke the way the four guys in Four Day Weekend can, but we still want to wish the Fort Worth comedy troupe a happy fourth birthday. Four Day Weekend started performing its weekly shows in Casa Manana’s Sundance Square theater following the long-running show Forever Plaid. Now, the group, which has lost and gained a few players, has its own theater on the second floor of Sundance staple Caravan of Dreams, broadcasts its Friday and Saturday shows on Yahoo! And has broken Forever Plaid’s grip on that longest-running title. Four Day Weekend will celebrate its anniversary with a special show at 9 p.m. Saturday followed by the premiere of Burning the Grump, member Dave Ahearn’s short film that stars his cast mates David Wilk and Oliver Tull. Tickets are $15. Call (817) 226-4DAY for reservations. Caravan of Dreams, 312 Houston, Fort Worth.
