Staff choice: David Ahearn

When he's not yucking it up as part of Fort Worth's comedy ensemble Four Day Weekend, David Ahearn takes interesting sidesteps into making short films. His latest work, Burning The Grump, is a mini-caper that slyly explores the destructive desperation fame causes for has-beens and never-beens. Playing at national film festivals, the piece struck such a chord that Ahearn's gotten studio interest for his buddy feature Pickle, which starts shooting in March.
